Mr. Rogers' Sweater Drive 2011
This year's Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive was a great success. Nearly 20,000 items were collected through Duval County Schools and collection points at WJCT, VyStar, Two Men and a Truck, and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Items were distributed to Downtown Ecumenical Services Council, St. Vincent’s Mobile Outreach Unit, Clara White Mission (pictured), City Rescue Mission, Sheriff’s Office Reentry Center, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and Outreach Ministries, Family Promise, and San Jose Catholic Church. The 15 participating public and private schools collected 9,187 items. The top three schools - 1st place, Crown Point Elementary School at 247 percent; 2nd place, Pine Forest Elementary School at 123 percent; and 3rd place, Kirby Smith Middle School at 101percent.
